With over 36 years of global experience in surgical nursing, clinical leadership, and advanced perioperative education, I bring a lifetime of commitment to elevating surgical standards and empowering the next generation of perioperative professionals.

As a Doctor of Nursing Practice with an Executive MBA in Healthcare Leadership, a RN First Assist (RNFA), and a CNOR perioperative nurse, I have trained thousands of surgical nurses both nationally and internationally. My scope of practice spans complex surgical assistance, evidence-based education, executive leadership, and international humanitarian work.

Areas of Expertise:

• Perioperative Nurse Education: Development and delivery of high-impact clinical training programs, critical thinking exams, and continuing education courses grounded in AORN guidelines and standards.
• Executive Leadership: Former Executive Director of Surgical Services overseeing more than 100 staff members; experienced in OR operations, staffing, accreditation, budgeting, and process optimization.
• Clinical Policy & Protocol Development: Author of comprehensive clinical guidelines and standard operating procedures used by hospitals, nursing programs, and international medical missions.
• Patient-Centered Care: Skilled in all phases of perioperative care, with a focus on safety, sterile technique, surgical site infection prevention, and positive patient outcomes.
• Advocacy & Innovation: Advocate for expanded nursing roles, including RN-administered aesthetic injectables, and dedicated to mentoring future leaders in surgical nursing.
• Surgical First Assisting: Expert support in a wide range of surgical specialties, including vascular, cardiac, orthopedic, and general surgery, with advanced proficiency in suturing, retraction, hemostasis, and patient positioning.
